Starting June 2, 2025, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will require all vehicle inspections in Dubai to be booked in advance. This applies to all 27 technical testing centres across the emirate, except for the Tasjeel Hatta centre.

Book Through RTA Dubai App or Website

Appointments must be made via the ‘RTA Dubai’ mobile app or the official website at www.rta.ae. This new system is designed to reduce long wait times and make the inspection process more efficient for everyone.

Walk-in Option Comes with an Extra Fee

If you prefer to skip the booking and walk in, 19 centres will still offer this option — but it will cost you an extra Dh100 as a service fee.

No Walk-ins at These 8 Centres

Eight centres will not accept walk-ins at all. These include Wasel (Arabian Centre, Nad Al Hamar), Shamil (Al Adid, Al Muhaisnah, Nad Al Hamar), Al Mumayaz (Al Mizhar), and Tasjeel (Al Twar and Al Mankhool).

Pilot Program Showed Great Results

This change follows a successful pilot at Al Qusais and Al Barsha Tasjeel centres, where waiting times dropped by 46% and customer satisfaction improved. Over half the users chose to pre-book, proving the system works well.
