UAE Introduces First National Cybersecurity Guidelines for Drones.
The UAE has taken a big step forward in drone safety by announcing its very first national cybersecurity guidelines for unmanned aerial systems. With drones becoming more common in industries like agriculture, logistics, and environmental monitoring, the new rules aim to ensure these technologies stay secure from cyber threats.
The Collaborations?
The guidelines were launched by the UAE Cybersecurity Council in collaboration with Digital Reach, a digital transformation and cybersecurity solutions provider, and Shieldworkz, a company specializing in protecting operational systems, IoT, and drones.
Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Government Cybersecurity Council, highlighted that these guidelines reflect the nation’s proactive and forward-thinking approach to safeguarding its digital landscape. As drone use grows, so do the risks—and the UAE is making sure it stays ahead of the curve.
Malek Melhem, CEO of Reach Group, added that they’re committed to building stronger cyber and digital infrastructure in the country. Mohamed Khaled, Vice President of Growth and Corporate Transformation at Reach Group, also emphasized that this move supports innovation while keeping national airspace and infrastructure safe.
It’s a major milestone in the UAE’s mission to lead in both technology and security—paving the way for smarter, safer skies.
