Motorists in Sharjah can now benefit from a significant reduction in traffic fines, thanks to a new announcement by the Sharjah Executive Council. If fines are paid within 60 days of committing the offence, a 35% discount will be applied.

For those who miss the 60-day window but pay within one year, a 25% discount will still be available. However, it’s important to note that these discounts do not apply to certain serious traffic violations, which remain exempt from the offer.

The decision was made during a recent Executive Council meeting chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Council.

In the same meeting, the Council also approved a 50% discount on government fees for entrepreneurs. This initiative covers 88 different projects across a variety of economic sectors, aiming to support business growth and innovation in the emirate.

This is not the first time Sharjah has introduced such a discount. The 35% fine reduction initiative was first rolled out in 2023, while Abu Dhabi also runs a similar year-round discount programme for motorists.
