RTA Launches New Eight-Lane Bridge Over Dubai Creek.
Dubai is gearing up for another major infrastructure upgrade! The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the construction of a massive eight-lane bridge over Dubai Creek, designed to improve traffic flow between Bur Dubai and Dubai Islands.
This new bridge project spans 1,425 metres and comes with a total investment of Dh786 million. It will link the Infinity Bridge with the Port Rashid Development Area, creating a smoother and faster commute for residents and visitors alike.
With four lanes in each direction, the bridge is expected to handle up to 16,000 vehicles per hour. That’s a significant improvement for one of Dubai’s busiest zones.
One of the standout features of the bridge is its dedicated pedestrian and cycling path, a big plus for eco-conscious commuters and tourists exploring the city by foot or bike. The bridge will also include elevators to help pedestrians and cyclists easily cross the Creek.
To keep the waterway clear, the bridge will stand 18.5 metres above the water, and the 75-metre-wide channel will allow large boats and marine traffic to pass without obstruction.
This new RTA project is part of a larger push to expand and enhance Dubai’s transport infrastructure, especially as the city continues to grow in population and tourism. Improved road access to the Dubai Islands is expected to bring long-term benefits to both residents and local businesses.
