Roadworks Begin in 9 School Zones Across Dubai to Ease Traffic.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has kicked off roadworks at nine key school zones across the city to improve traffic flow and boost road safety. The work is scheduled to be carried out during the summer holidays to avoid disrupting daily commutes for students and residents.

The upgrades include enhancements at several busy school areas, such as the Al Warqa 1 school complex, an additional bus entrance at GEMS School in Al Warqa 3, and widened access and exit points around The English College in Al Safa 1. A new signal-controlled pedestrian crossing will also be installed on Al Seedaf Street in Al Barsha 1 to make it safer for students and pedestrians.

This initiative is part of a larger traffic improvement project covering 40 locations across Dubai. Between June and September, RTA will work on 22 major streets, 9 school zones, 5 development areas, and several internal roads in areas like Tolerance District, Al Khawaneej 2, and Nad Al Sheba.

Additional plans include a new access route to the Al Muhaisnah labour camps from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, upgrades to Al Mustaqbal Street for improved residential access, and new parking facilities at Zayed Educational Complex in Oud Al Muteena 1.

Pedestrian walkways will be added in Al Quoz Creative Zone, and future enhancements are lined up for key locations such as Jumeirah Village Circle, Hessa Street, Ras Al Khor Road, and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street.
