New bridge cuts Dubai-Sharjah travel time from 40 to 15 minutes!

New Al Shindagha Bridge Eases Daily Sharjah-Dubai Commute.

Motorists commuting from Sharjah to Dubai are finally catching a break, thanks to a brand-new bridge that just opened in the Al Shindagha area. While the distance hasn’t changed, the travel experience definitely has—no more bumper-to-bumper frustration for daily drivers.

Located just after the Infinity Bridge towards Sheikh Zayed Road, the new bridge connects Al Khaleej Street to Khalid bin Al Waleed Road. This leads directly to key areas like the Dubai Frame and Al Khail Road. It’s quickly become a go-to option for people trying to avoid the daily gridlock, especially during rush hour.

Muhammed Nadeem, a resident of Al Nahda in Sharjah who works in Al Barsha, shared how much of a game-changer this new route has been. “Right after exiting Sharjah and crossing the Salik gate at Al Mamzar, I take a right towards Corniche Street, then head over the Infinity Bridge. From there, the new bridge connects smoothly to Al Khail Road,” he explained.

This smart route helps him avoid notorious traffic hotspots like Ittihad Road, the Airport Tunnel, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. But the benefits don’t stop at time saved—he’s also seeing major savings on tolls and fuel. “I save at least Dh18 to Dh20 every day on Salik alone. Plus, with smooth traffic flow, I’m not wasting fuel just sitting around.”

Residents say the impact of the new bridge was immediate. With the success of this upgrade, many are hoping it’s just the beginning of more infrastructure improvements to make travel between Sharjah and Dubai smoother and more affordable for everyone.
