Massive Fire at Sharjah’s Hamriyah Port Brought Under Control Within 24 Hours!
A major fire broke out at Sharjah’s Hamriyah Port early Saturday morning, around 8am. The blaze raged for nearly 24 hours before firefighters finally managed to bring it under control by 6:25am on Sunday. The fire involved highly flammable materials stored on-site, making the operation even more challenging.
Firefighting teams used advanced equipment, helicopters, and Bambi buckets to tackle the flames from both the ground and the air. Their quick and well-coordinated response helped contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.
Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported. Authorities confirmed that despite the intensity of the fire, the teams prioritized safety and managed the situation with top-tier emergency protocols.
Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, emphasized the importance of relying on official sources for updates and urged the public not to spread rumours.
Interestingly, this wasn’t the only fire incident in the UAE recently. On the same day, May 25, a warehouse fire broke out in Abu Dhabi’s Mussaffah industrial area, which was quickly handled without injuries. Earlier in the week, another fire had occurred at a petrochemical facility in Sharjah’s Al Sajaa area, which was also swiftly contained.
Authorities continue to remind residents to stay alert during emergencies and follow only verified news updates.
