Dubai’s UAE Exchange Metro Station to be renamed to Life Pharmacy!

UAE Exchange Metro Station Renamed to Life Pharmacy Metro Station!

Dubai’s UAE Exchange Metro Station is getting a brand-new identity! As part of a 10-year naming rights agreement, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially renamed the station to Life Pharmacy Metro Station.

Located in Jebel Ali and marked as R42 on metro maps, this station is one of the starting points of the Red Line. Starting from May through the end of August, RTA will begin updating all signage—both internal and external—across the Metro network. The new name will also be reflected in digital systems, mobile apps, and even the onboard audio announcements you hear during your ride.

This naming rights deal was signed between Life Pharmacy Group and Hypermedia, with Mada Media attending in its role as the RTA’s authorised concessionaire under a separate agreement. The move is part of the Dubai Metro Naming Rights initiative, a first-of-its-kind project globally that began back in 2009.

Over the years, several Metro stations have undergone similar rebranding. Recent examples include GGICO station being renamed to Al Garhoud Metro Station, and Al Khail Metro Station becoming Al Fardan Exchange Metro Station. Other rebranded stations include JLT, Umm Sheif, Mashreq, Marina, and Al Safa.

Stay tuned as Dubai continues to innovate and refresh the public transport experience!
