Dubai Unveils New Air Quality Strategy and Global Education Ambitions.
Dubai has taken a major step toward a cleaner, smarter future. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Executive Council, has approved two major initiatives: a comprehensive air quality strategy and an ambitious education development plan.
Clean Air for 90% of the Year.
One of the key strategies approved is aimed at significantly improving Dubai’s air quality. The goal is to ensure that clean air standards are met on at least 90% of days annually. This move aligns with Dubai’s broader commitment to sustainability and public health, reinforcing its status as a modern, eco-conscious global city.
Dubai’s Push to Become a Global Education Hub.
In the same Executive Council meeting, Sheikh Hamdan also gave the green light to a large-scale project focused on education. The plan includes attracting top international universities to set up in Dubai, enhancing the city’s academic ecosystem. The ultimate goal is to place Dubai among the top 10 global destinations for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
A Vision for a Knowledge-Based Future.
These initiatives align with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transition the UAE toward a knowledge-based economy. By investing in both environmental health and education, Dubai is laying the groundwork for a sustainable and future-ready society.
