Dubai Mallathon: Walk and Run Indoors in 7 Malls this August.
Dubai has introduced a new fitness initiative for August called the Dubai Mallathon, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This initiative transforms seven major shopping malls into indoor fitness tracks, allowing residents to stay active from 7am to 10am daily — all while beating the summer heat.
What Is the Dubai Mallathon?
The Dubai Mallathon is part of the Dubai Social Agenda’s 33 targets and encourages an active lifestyle in a familiar, air-conditioned environment. It’s open to everyone — residents, senior citizens, kids, youth, and even mall employees.
Participating Malls
Residents can walk or run at any of the following malls:
Dubai Mall
Dubai Hills Mall
City Centre Deira
City Centre Mirdif
Mall of the Emirates
Dubai Marina Mall
The Springs Souk
What to Expect
Each mall will have fully equipped fitness pathways, stretching zones, children’s areas, and health awareness stations. Participants can also take advantage of fitness-tracking tools and guided warm-up exercises throughout the space.
Special Offers for Participants
Restaurants and retailers in these malls will also offer special discounts and healthy menu options, encouraging participants to maintain balanced and sustainable lifestyles.
Free Registration
Participation is completely free, and residents can register online at www.dubaimallathon.ae. After signing up, users will receive a digital card confirming their enrolment.
Why It Matters
According to Sheikh Hamdan, the initiative is about making healthy living simple and accessible for all. He stated:
“Every step you take moves us closer towards a healthier Dubai… This is a shared journey.”
By making use of underutilized indoor space, the Dubai Mallathon offers a practical fitness solution for the summer and continues the city’s commitment to community health, following successful campaigns like the Dubai Fitness Challenge and Dubai Run.
