Abu Dhabi Lowers Speed Limits on Two Major Roads Starting April 14.

Big changes are coming to Abu Dhabi’s roads starting April 14, 2025. The Abu Dhabi Mobility has announced new speed limits on two key highways in an effort to make roads safer and reduce the number of traffic accidents across the emirate.

What are the Roads?

The first change is on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road (E11), where the speed limit will be reduced from 160 km/h to 140 km/h. This is a major highway, so drivers who frequent this route will definitely want to take note.

The second adjustment is on the Abu Dhabi-Sweihan Road (E20), which will see its speed limit drop from 120 km/h to 100 km/h. Whether you’re commuting or heading out for a weekend drive, this is one to remember.

These changes are part of a broader push to improve road safety in Abu Dhabi. Authorities are encouraging all motorists to stay within the new limits and drive carefully to protect themselves and others on the road.

So if you’re planning to be out and about after April 14, make sure you’re aware of the new rules — and as always, drive safe!
