Dubai Metro Blue Line Route Map and Stations Revealed.

Dubai has taken another major step in expanding its public transport network with new details revealed about the highly anticipated Dubai Metro Blue Line. The project is set to significantly improve connectivity across key residential, commercial, and educational hubs in the emirate.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that the Blue Line will feature a total of 14 stations, including five elevated stations, four underground stations, four future elevated stations, and one underground interchange station.

Network length, capacity, and connectivity.

The Dubai Metro Blue Line will stretch across 30 kilometres, with 14.5km above ground and 15.5km underground. Once operational, the line is expected to handle over 350,000 passengers daily, easing pressure on major road corridors and existing metro lines.

Designed to link the Red Line and Green Line, the Blue Line represents a major milestone in Dubai’s transport development. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum laid the foundation stone for the project in June, marking the official start of construction.

As of November 2025, RTA confirmed that 10 per cent of construction work has already been completed in just five months, highlighting the fast pace of development.

Route details: two key corridors

The Blue Line will operate across two main routes.

The first route, consisting of 10 stations, begins at the Creek Station on the Green Line. It will pass through Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, and Ras Al Khor, before reaching International City 1, which will serve as an underground interchange station. From there, the route continues towards International City 2 and 3, extending to Dubai Silicon Oasis and ending at Academic City.

The second route includes four stations and starts from the Centrepoint Station on the Red Line. It will pass through Mirdif and Al Warqa, before terminating at the International City 1 Interchange Station.

Station design and architecture

The exterior design of the elevated stations is inspired by the shape of a seashell, reflecting Dubai’s coastal heritage. Inside, stations will follow seven thematic design models, including Heritage, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, creating distinct visual experiences across the network.

The first station, named Emaar Properties, has drawn particular attention. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) — the architectural firm behind the Burj Khalifa, the Sears Tower in Chicago, and the Olympic Tower in New York — the station is set to become the world’s highest metro station.

Standing at 74 metres (242 feet), the station will feature three levels with soaring walls and a signature metro arch design. Strategically placed glass panels will allow natural sunlight to flow into the platforms, blending functionality with striking architecture.

Impact on traffic, rents, and communities

With construction underway, road diversions have already been announced across multiple parts of Dubai as work progresses on the Blue Line.

Proximity to the new metro corridor has quickly become a major factor for residents and investors alike, with rents rising in areas located near the upcoming stations.

Once operational, the Blue Line is expected to reduce traffic congestion on its served routes by 20 per cent. By 2029, around 50,000 university students from Academic City are anticipated to rely on the line for daily commuting.

A major step in Dubai’s transport future

The Dubai Metro Blue Line is set to reshape mobility across the city, improving access to growing residential zones, education hubs, and business districts. As construction continues at a rapid pace, the project stands as another example of Dubai’s long-term vision for smart, sustainable urban transport.
