Dubai Introduces 24/7 Paid Parking at Mosques Starting August.
Dubai is set to roll out 24-hour paid parking at 59 mosques across the city beginning in August 2025. The move comes through a new partnership between Parkin Company and the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), aiming to streamline access and reduce misuse of mosque parking spaces.
Free Parking During Prayer Times.
Worshippers visiting mosques will be able to park for free for one hour during prayer times. Outside these hours, the spaces will be chargeable 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This measure is expected to help ensure availability for actual mosque visitors, especially during peak hours.
Parking Zones and Rates.
Parkin will manage around 2,100 parking spaces across the selected mosque sites. These will be designated under two categories:
Zone M (Standard): Dh2 for 30 minutes, Dh4 for an hour
Zone MP (Premium):
Off-peak: Dh2 for 30 minutes, Dh4 for an hour
Peak hours: Dh3 for 30 minutes, Dh6 for an hour
Of the 59 mosques, 41 will fall under Zone M and 18 under Zone MP.
Parkin’s Growing Portfolio!
With this new agreement, Parkin’s private parking portfolio will grow to approximately 20,800 spaces. The company already operates around 209,000 paid public spaces and 19,000 developer-owned parking spots across the emirate. This includes ticketless, barrier-free parking solutions and partnerships with major mall operators like Majid Al Futtaim.
Enhancing the Worshipper Experience.
Parkin CEO Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali said the initiative is designed to offer better access for worshippers while discouraging non-visitors from misusing mosque parking areas. IACAD Director-General Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi noted that this marks a new phase in improving mosque services and enhancing the religious experience across Dubai.
The initiative could expand further, with more mosque locations to be added under IACAD’s portfolio in future phases.
