H.H Sheikh Mohammed’s ‘One Billion Meals’ Campaign Reaches 65 Countries.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the successful completion of the ‘One Billion Meals’ campaign — an initiative launched to combat global hunger.

Over the past three years, the campaign has distributed one billion meals to those in need across 65 countries. Originally launched with the aim to support 50 countries, the initiative surpassed its goal, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian aid.

260 Million More Meals Planned.

On July 4, Sheikh Mohammed also revealed that an additional 260 million meals will be distributed over the next year. To ensure sustainability, the UAE has established real estate endowments dedicated to funding ongoing food assistance worldwide.

Part of a Larger Mission.

The ‘One Billion Meals’ campaign follows earlier efforts including ‘10 Million Meals’ and ‘100 Million Meals,’ growing into one of the region’s largest food aid movements. In 2022 alone, meals reached crisis-hit areas in 13 countries including India, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, and Uganda.

Supporting Global Goals.

This initiative contributes to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 2 — ending hunger by 2030. With a focus on building sustainable food supply chains, the campaign reflects the UAE’s role in advancing global humanitarian action.
